Dave Tomanovich is a full time Cannabis photographer. You can appreciate his work mostly on his Instagram page, with over 30,000 eager followers. And while most people think that photography is just a point-and-click affair, there's an insane amount of work that goes into each photograph. Tomanovich's work is not an exception. The field in which Tomanovich works is called Macrophotography and it's one of the most complex disciplines in photography because it involves photographing the very small; From insects and coins to products, in this case resins and concentrates, which requires a fair amount of fiddling with the equipment, lighting conditions and distances to be able to capture the tiniest and finest details on a subject.
“I’ll be 45 this year, up until three years ago, I sort of tongue-in-cheek said, ‘I wish I knew what I was going to do when I grow up.’ I never thought I could get paid to take pictures of anything, let alone something that I’m really passionate about. This is a literal life dream come true.”
The equipment Tomanovich uses to capture these breath-taking pictures ain't cheap either, however he says aspiring photographers don't need to spend upwards of $10,000 worth of gear just yet, it's more about knowing how to use it. The raw talent, if you will. And David Tomanovich seems to have it to spare. You can look at his amazing work below:
