In short? No. They're not. At all. They are the equivalent of letting an anvil fall over your head on a regular basis.
With all this talk about legalizing Marijuana here and there everyone is trying to cash into this new "trend", and that's no exception for Big Pharma and other drug dealers, who always find a way to peddle some kind of poison to you, in this case, synthetic cannabinoids.
So what these are, is basically THC (a.k.a. Tetrahydrocannabinol, a.k.a. what gets you high) synthesized in a lab, which may sound like maybe a cheaper alternative or maybe a viable substitute but in reality is nothing but poison. It's the equivalent of tying firecrackers to your genitals and calling that "good sex".
I am not even kidding, Folks. If you were expecting anything more than grief, pain and health issues by consuming synthetic weed, you're sadly mistaken because that's all you gonna get. Sure, a bit of a high, maybe temporary relief but accompanied by side effects such as vomiting, nausea, accelerated heart rate, high blood pressure, kidney damage, aggressivity, seizures and heart attacks. Also fun activities such as spontaneous nose bleeds, bleeding from the gums, vomiting blood, blood in the stool and blood in the urine. Boy, that sounds like a blast. One from a huge SciFi ray gun. And that is what pisses medical and recreational cannabis activists like us so much. Synthetic weed has NOTHING to do with natural Marijuana. It only shares the name. They might as well call it "Crystal Meth Part II" or "Green Crack" instead but it goes by street names such as: "Spice", "Black Mamba", "K2" and "Fake Marijuana".
Synthetic cannabinoids are nothing like real weed, especially 'cause you can't overdose on real weed, tho you can on the synthetic variety. So if you know anyone hooked up on this substance, please visit the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIH) for more information on how to help them.
