Myths and lies about Marijuana. Or How to Sound Like a Perfect Imbecile Ft. Jeff Sessions.

Updated: Jun 26, 2018

When you see someone working in a high place in the government you'd assume that they are fairly well educated and know what they're talking about. After all, the job description calls for highly capable people to lead the nation to greatness. And then there's Jeff Sessions; A person you'd swear was dropped on his head as a baby. From the 3rd floor. I am not trying to be mean to Mr. Sessions. But how else do you explain his pointless war on Cannabis? How else do you explain his views on Weed? He has GOT to be mentally challenged and to prove it we are going to analyze a few of his stupidest quotes. You know, in case you ever wanted a detailed tutorial on how to sound like an idiot, brain-damaged white supremacist.

“Good people don’t smoke marijuana.”

While president Obama may not be everyone's cup of presidential tea, LOTS of objectively great people smoked weed. People such as, William Shakespeare, James Monroe a.k.a. the 5th president of the United States and other presidents; John F. Kennedy, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson (Who reportedly also cultivated it!), Carl Sagan, Oscar Wilde and Queen Victoria... Do I really need to go on? And I personally know a ton of weed smokers, all of them honest, hardworking people. Honestly, how big of a human turd do you have to be to say such a thing?

“You can’t have the President of the United States of America talking about marijuana... you are sending a message to young people that there is no danger in this process. It is false that marijuana use doesn’t lead people to more drug use. It is already causing a disturbance in the states that have made it legal.”

Ok, first of all, yeah, no. HUGE disturbance. Lower crime rates, less arrests, which means less crowded prisons, which means less taxpayer's dollars spent on that. People with PTSD, Generalized Anxiety, and opioid dependency, all of them got better. Not only did violent crime go down, but people whose days are a living nightmare are now able to go about their daily routines and function in society.

Second, There is no direct correlation between Cannabis and other drug use. In other words, the whole "Gateway Drug" argument has been debunked in countless occasions, but in case you need any proof, this comes directly from the NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse):

These findings are consistent with the idea of marijuana as a "gateway drug." However, the majority of people who use marijuana do not go on to use other, "harder" substances. Also, cross-sensitization is not unique to marijuana. Alcohol and nicotine also prime the brain for a heightened response to other drugs and are, like marijuana, also typically used before a person progresses to other, more harmful substances.

In other words, Marijuana is no more of a gateway drug than alcohol or cigarettes.

This one's a doozie: “I thought those guys [the Ku Klux Klan] were OK until I learned they smoked pot.”

I'm sorry, what? Ok... I'm just-- Yeah... I just gonna let that one sink in.

"I reject the idea that America will be a better place if marijuana is sold in every corner store.  And I am astonished to hear people suggest that we can solve our heroin crisis by legalizing marijuana – so people can trade one life-wrecking dependency for another that’s only slightly less awful."

What kind of fantasy world does this guy even live in? How does he even think shit works!? I mean, every Pharmacy, maybe, every corner store??? Wait... does he...? Is Jeff Sessions high on something???

And I'm sorry to burst his delusional bubble, but heroin is NOTHING like Marijuana! Not by a long shot, DO YOU EVEN SCIENCE, BRO!? Look, I could write an essay here on organic chemistry and cannabinoid receptor CB1 and μ-opioid receptors to SCIENTIFICALLY prove that heroin dependence is just WAYYY worse than Cannabis dependence, but I am just going to say: Heroin kills over 12,000 people each year. Cannabis kills none. And according to my calculations, 12k is definitely slightly more than 0. So by that metric alone, weed wins. No questions asked, not to mention there's the fact that statistically there are way more violent crimes related to heroin than Weed.

"There’s more violence around marijuana"

Is there, tho? If you ever met a weed user, one of the first things you'll notice is they're mellow and chill and generally relaxed. Literally relaxed. Like, that's what Cannabis does. It relaxes you. And then there's Washington and Colorado, both had Cannabis legalized and violent crime went down. How come? Maybe 'cause weed doesn't make you violent?

In fact, Cocaine, Heroin and Alcohol make up the bulk of violent crimes, not weed. Alcohol alone, plays a role in 40% of all violent crimes, so even if pot actually made people violent for some reason. Shouldn't we worry more about those other ones?

In conclusion, Jeff Sessions i̶s̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶i̶d̶i̶o̶t̶ is using lies, myths and misconceptions to get weed banned, and I think people should know the whole story. And I don't know whether he is actually THAT ignorant and stupid or maybe he has a hidden agenda and is getting paid under the table by big pharma and the privatized prison system to keep their money flowing, I don't know but you should call your congressman and discuss this before it's too late, because right now marijuana isn't lethal, but soon it might be. If Jeff Sessions has his way and death sentence is passed on people selling it, maybe THEN weed will be as deadly and dangerous as he claims it is.
